UCD Press Release: UCD AFC v Cobh Ramblers

UCD AFC Media Officer Conor McCarthy with Team news and update in preparation for tomorrow’s game.

Match Preview: UCD AFC vs Cobh Ramblers

Kick-off: 7.45pm, UCD Bowl, Friday 1st June May 2018

After a 2-0 defeat last Friday night against Cabinteely FC in Stradbrook, we are back in First Division action on Friday night as Cobh Ramblers are the visitors to the UCD Bowl. Collie O’Neill’s side will be looking to bounce straight back after last week’s defeat and he knows his side are going to have to improve if they are to pick up the three points.

“Friday is going to be a really tough game for us, Cobh were on a great run up until last weeks game against Shelbourne and i’m sure they’ll be looking to bounce back quickly. Stephen has a young hungry side who have had the better of the games between us over the last two years and I expect Friday to be a really close game.”

“We ourselves, just like Cobh, will be looking to bounce back from a defeat last week, so many things just didn’t go our way against Cabinteely but can’t really argue about the result, we just need to move on and get back to winning ways.”

Collie has a number of injuries to contend with for Friday’s game with Timmy Molloy (knee), Neil Farrugia (collarbone), and Maxi Kouogun (ankle) all missing out. Conor Kearns (shoulder) and Greg Sloggett (groing) are both doubts for the game and face late fitness tests in their battle to make the game.

Injured: Neil Farrugia (broken collarbone), Timmy Molloy (knee), Maxi Kouogun (ankle)

Doubtful: Conor Kearns (shoulder), Greg Sloggett (groin)

Suspended: None
